Weekly Intercessions

Intercessions for Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time, August 29, 2010

My friends, we come to the Lord’s Table with humble hearts. In true humility let us lift up the needs of all people, as we pray.

1. For the Church, and this parish community, that we seek to extend the love of God without limitations, expectations or conditions, we pray to the Lord.

2. For all bishops and priests, that they may imitate the humble service of Christ, we pray to the Lord.

3. For those discerning the call to a religious vocation and for those who have begun their formation as priests for the archdiocese, that God grant them the hearts, minds, and spirits to discern the Father’s will, we pray to the Lord.

4. For our parish, that in all that we build, we provide places of honor for the poor, the abused, the lost and the forgotten, we pray to the Lord.

5. For the sick, especially Juana Cruz, mother of Gina Gutierrez; and Tom Roach, husband of Doris Roach; and Monsignor John Sheridan, that they may experience Christ’s healing presence, we pray to the Lord.

6. For those who have died, especially Baby Julius Ramirez, son of Bridie Ramirez, that God welcome them into the banquet in heaven, we pray to the Lord.

7. For our silent and unspoken needs as well as those written down in our Book of Special Intentions, we pray to the Lord.

Gracious and loving God, hear our prayers this day. Grant us the grace and humility to become the holy men and women you call us to be. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
