Junior High (Grades 7-8)

Junior High Religious Education is open to all junior high youth in Grades 7 and 8. Classes meet weekly from late September through early May. The availability of classes depends on the times volunteer catechists are available. If you have a need for a specific time or day, consider volunteering to be a Catechist. Training is available! This program is an important part of preparation for Confirmation.

Junior High Curriculum

The Junior High curriculum is designed to present many of the core teachings of our Catholic faith in an enjoyable and age-appropriate manner. Topics covered include Revelation, the Kingdom of God, the Church, Sacraments, Jesus Christ, and Morality. Teaching is based upon the Call to Faith Thematic series by Harcourt Religion Publishers. For more information, visit the website at www.harcourtreligion.com.

A primary goal for all Grade 7/8 Religious Education classes (summer track as well as school year track) is keeping students and families connected with church and each other throughout the year. All Religious Education students are expected to participate in four Junior High activities during the course of the school year. It is the parents' responsibility to make sure students attend the scheduled Junior High activities. These activities are part of the curriculum. Students attending the Parish School are also invited to participate. Dates of these activities are:
