Liturgy of the Word for Children

The Liturgy of the Word for Children is celebrated at the 9:00 am Mass every Sunday for children in Grades 1-6. Parents are invited to serve at Liturgy of the Word for Children. This Liturgical Ministry needs adults who lead the dismissal of the children, after the opening prayer, at 9 am Sunday Mass. Children return to their parents for the Preparation of the Gifts (Offertory) and you return to Mass too. Frequency of service by adults is once every 6 to 8 weeks.

If you like children, know only a little about the Bible but are willing to use the helpful resources, can read stories and talk from the heart, you have the gifts needed to serve in this liturgical Ministry.

Also Needed:

  • Lectors - to read the First Reading
  • Prayer Leaders - to read the Opening Prayer
  • Procession Helpers - to be sure the children go to the Auditorium and return to Church safely.
  • Hospitality - bring and serve orange juice after 9 AM Mass, clean the coffee pot too! Donuts are delivered by the Gietzens.
