Katherine is a native of Georgia but has come to California three times, this time by way of Springfield, Virginia. She earned a B.S. from Valdosta State College and a M.A. in Pastoral Studies from St. Joseph's College of Maine. Her work experience is varied, including teaching mathematics and parish youth ministry. Her most treasured job titles are those that describe her vocation as wife and mother. She has been married to Michael for twenty-five years. They have three adult children - Peter, a graduate of, David and Elyse, students at the "other" USC - the University of South Carolina, and a high schooler at home.
